COVID-19 Vaccine Update: Sept. 2, 2022

The CDC endorsed the ACIP's recommendations for the use of updated COVID-19 boosters for Pfizer for people 12 and older and Moderna for people 18 and older on Thursday, Sept. 1, 2022. Sublette County Public Health will be receiving the Moderna booster initially (we will carry Pfizer boosters at a later date when supply increases). The updated COVID-19 boosters add Omicron BA.4 and BA.5 spike protein components to the mRNA COVID-19 vaccine composition, increasing protection against the currently circulating variants.

The CDC encourages people to get updated boosters if they are eligible. Vaccines are highly effective at protecting people from serious illness and remain the best way to protect from severe COVID-19 hospitalization and death. To learn when you can get a booster, use CDC’s COVID-19 booster tool.

Sublette County Public Health will offer the new Moderna boosters starting next Thursday, Sept. 8, from 1 to 4 pm at the Public Health Office in Pinedale, and on Tuesday, Sept. 13 from 1 - 3:30 pm in Marbleton, please call 307-367-2157 to schedule your appointment. Please bring your COVID vaccine card and completed vaccine consent form with you.

Public Health will continue to offer COVID vaccinations (& boosters) every week at our usual COVID clinic times:

Marbleton Office–Tuesdays from 1 – 3:30 pm

Pinedale Office–Thursdays from 1 – 4 pm

Please call 367-2157 to schedule an appointment for your booster dose–we really need to schedule these appointments due to staffing & vaccine supply at this time.

As of August 29, 2022– 3,581 people or 36.43% of our total population, have been fully vaccinated in Sublette County.
