Sublette County Public Health Update: July 15, 2022

Well that escalated quickly, between this newsletter being prepped late on Thursday evening and being posted today, the CDC changed the community transmission levels to HIGH for Sublette County. This update and the map have been modified to reflect the changes.
The Wyoming Department of Health's website continues to reflect lower numbers, as it is only updated on Tuesdays.

COVID Update
Sublette County Public Health has received notification of 47 new positive COVID-19 cases in Sublette County since our last update on June 24th. The Wyoming Department of Health is currently issuing new case count reports on Tuesdays only. From the WDH report on Tuesday, July 12 – our current numbers include 2,012 recoveries and 27 deaths, for a total of 2,039 cases since the pandemic began (505 cases in 2022).
Sublette County is in the HIGH community transmission level according to the CDC’s website. (https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/science/community-levels.html) See map (below) for a quick view of the rest of the state’s community transmission status.

COVID-19 Vaccines
As of July 4, 2022 – 3,542 people or 36.03% of our population, have been fully vaccinated in Sublette County.
The FDA authorized a new vaccine for adults this week–Novavax COVID. Novavax is based on conventional protein technology that has been used for decades for vaccine development and will require two doses. Novavax is awaiting approval from the CDC. The State of Wyoming has not received any doses for distribution at this time–we will let you know when doses become available in Sublette County.
Sublette County Public Health offers weekly COVID vaccine clinics for ages 6+ months. Walk-ins are welcome on our scheduled clinic days or call 367-2157 to schedule an appointment (appointments for PEDS Moderna required at this time). Pfizer, Peds Pfizer (ages 5-11yrs), Moderna, and Peds Moderna (ages 6months–5yrs) are offered at our weekly clinics.
